Great pub grub food. Decent selection of beers on tap. And staff is very friendly. Worth the drive to get away from the overcrowded Rockside chains.

Such a nice place. Friendly service and excellent food. The drinks are good, reasonable prices. I would recommend this place for after work parties. I was there on a Thursday after work. Got great service and got there before the rush. Even with a crowd they have a good system for service, barely had to wait.

Friendly bartenders, great food, and a clean and trendy atmosphere make this place an awesome spot for casual cocktails and dinner. Me and my mom went and sat at the bar and enjoyed some summer specials they had on the menu. Great food in addition to expertly mixed drinks. They also have a lovely outdoor seating area for when the weather is nice. Highly recommended.
- Claire M.
Great burgers and tazmanian wings! We love coming here for trivia Tuesdays and the wait staff is very friendly. Definitely a big improvement from the old Panini's.

Great place to catch a beer, watch the game, and eat quality food with great service! It's for sure a local place that is also owned locally. Hope to be a regular at this place. The decor is nice and clean; great sight and seating to watch a game. The menu is straight-forward and amazing. Good prices for quality food. Service was great! She never forgot anything and was on it. Food was amazing; dessert was so good. The chef even came out to our table and went around to everyone and asked how everything was, that was very impressive. Thankful to have a place like this around the corner from home. We will definitely be in there more often.
- Correy S.
Everything was delicious!! And the place has a clean and classy look to it! I would totally recommend giving it a try! Also, you must try their homemade coleslaw!!

Been here a couple times. They have great food and a huge draft selection. Can get a bit pricey but worth it. I got their 12 oz flat iron steak. It was cooked to perfection and very tasty. Decently thick too. Also their loaded tater tots is a must if you go there. Would recommend to anyone.
- Matthew M.
Warm and inviting. Great food! Wonderful first time experience! I'll come back!
- Nadine P.
Pleasantly surprised with this little gem! Had lunch so not very crowded at the time. Food was great! Had fried brussel sprouts appetizers, pot roast sliders and a side salad. It went very well with the Jackie O's Brown Ale. Service was very attentive and friendly. I will be back.
- Andrea M.
I stopped in for a meeting and a bite to eat recently and loved the atmosphere. I love the clean and updated look here and really enjoyed the French Onion soup I ordered. I'm excited to see some of the live entertainment available on the weekends!

Great atmosphere, excellent food and choices of food.
- Lisa R.
Great atmosphere, much cleaner and brighter than the old restaurants that were here. All of the food looks amazing and the waitresses and bartenders are awesome. Drinks are on par cost wise with most other local bars.
- Kerry D.
Here for St. Patrick's Day. Used to know it well when it was Paninis. A wonderful transformation from what was. From the bigger and better beer list, great menu (with seasonal specials), and updated ambiance, this place deserves at least a try. The location is super convenient.
- Randy K.
Always a good choice.
- Richard A.
Food was really good, service was top notch, jazz music on Sunday afternoon was good. Only thing that is not offered with a meal is a slice of bread and butter which is great with the gravy provided.
- Bill Z.
Great food and atmosphere.
Low key best spot in Independence, great happy hour deals.
Great food, friendly staff, clean restaurant. Have been here numerous times and have tried different items each time and all have been great!
- Matt M.
Tuesday night trivia rocks!!!
- Jamie B.
Great food...I really enjoy their flatbread pizzas, and the sassiness of the bartender that served us. When my parents asked "You're always here, why are you working when we come?" his response is "I work here". 10/10 would come back just for him...don't remember his name though. Sorry.
- Edward G.
Good food, fast service, nice atmosphere.
- Rick C.
Angel hair with garlic and olive oil is fantastic!

Was there today for the mussel special. They were sooo good. Then ordered the Alfredo shrimp pasta. Let me tell you this was the best ever! Even better than an Italian restaurant. Service was super. Ask for Clay when you go there. Will definitely be going back!
- Debbie S.
My husband and I stumbled on this place last night. Absolutely fantastic food. He had the pot roast with cheddar mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts and I had the grouper with homemade tartar sauce and coleslaw. Both dishes were fabulous. We will definitely be back to try more of that menu. I highly recommend if you're looking for new dinner spot!!
- Tina S.
I have been to this bar a few times, and always enjoyed the service and food! I made a fool of myself and got my car in a bit of a situation. I asked for some assistance and the whole back crew was there! Without question and no judgement (at least not in my face). Please make sure to stop by this place, it's so worth it!
- Wanda V.
Nicest bartenders ever!! Tina and Clay are the best!
- Bud T.
I have heard of this place and wanted some good comfort food for dinner. The menu had many great selections to choose from. The wine was good, the post roast and mashed potatoes was perfect. I love the bacon brussel. The service was good and helpful. Only thing missing was a slice of bread and butter. Could have used a slice with the gravy. They had none. Otherwise very good and planning to return next week.
- Bill Z.
I kept seeing posts from a friend who works here. Realized it was just around the corner from me, literally. So, decided to give it a try. My brother is in a wheelchair, and everyone was very nice and accommodating. I had the salmon, and I can be picky when it comes to my fish. Well it was perfect! The outside had a perfect crunch that set it apart from any other salmon I'd ever eaten. Very pleased with our decision. We will definitely be back again.
- Kimberly Y.
The service was absolutely amazing. We went there for my hubby's birthday. The food was a little on the pricey side but nevertheless it was delicious! They have a unique quality to their menu definitely worth checking out. Also a huge micro brew selection for you beer drinkers out there!
- Lana M.
Went for lunch today for the first time. The restaurant was nice, the menu had great selections. The staff was friendly and service was fast. We actually had an issue, but it was resolved promptly by the server and manager...so I will still give it 5 stars for their responsiveness.
- Kristen Y.
Thank you Eric and Nick and your staff!! Thoroughly enjoyed everything we tried tonight. The wings were second to none and I consider myself an expert. The Pot Roast dinner and all the sides were just like my Mama used to make. Looking forward to coming back to try some of the other eye tempting selections. Good luck and see you soon...
- Steven M.
Please bring back the wings half price on your appetizers they are delicious. Tried the boneless wings one time and they were hard as a rock. Other than that great atmosphere great service.
- Alida V.
The new owners of the old Paninis have really raised the bar. Spruced up interior. Great food and an impressive draft list. Live music. A more mature crowd. What's not to like?
- Eric M.
Great environment, great food and great people. Thank you Eric and Nick! I had the pork chop with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. Can't wait to get back and try something else.
- Ross P.
The place is beautiful and clean! Love how very up-to-date it is. Lots of TV's for sports. The layout with the patio bar is perfect to hang out on for the summer. Great variety of food on the menu and specials every day. All the employees are nice and knowledgeable.
- Julie S.
The food is amazing! Had Caesar salad and you could tell they make their own dressing. Charred the romaine. Flat iron steak was a great addition to it! My friend had pork chops that were perfectly cooked. Blue cheese dressing on her salad was definitely made by them. Going back soon!
- Jeri N.
Fantastic food, great service and a killer beer list. I had the French onion soup and the pork chop and both were amazing.
- Brad M.
Food is delicious and the staff is kind. Great lunch and dinner spot. Try the loaded tater tots. They're the best!
- Elizabeth D.

First tie here. We came down for the perch dinner. It was great. Matt was our server and he was on top of everything. We didn't have to ask for refills and the food was fast, hot, and good. We will be back for sure.
- Claudia J.
Love the Tavern of Independence. Good selection of cider, beer, mixed drinks. Love the loaded tater tots and brussel sprouts.
- Jane W.
Delicious. Our waitress Trisha was awesome!! Portion sizes were very large and the meal was very tasty. Tater tots, lettuce wraps and brussel sprouts spot on.
- Karyn B.
I've been here a handful of times. I've had the fish n chips which was excellent. I've had sliders that were pretty good. My brother had pulled pork that he loved. Tonight I'm eating just plain old chicken tenders. They are a fine execution of a common dish and you can get them with any of the wing sauces. I have not had any of the burgers but I've heard they are excellent. I look forward to coming back and trying something new.
- Kris P.
Food and service excellent! Loaded tater tots were to die for! All 17 of us truly enjoyed ourselves!
- Poppie P.
We started with the giant pretzel which was fantastic. The cheese sauce on the other hand was watered down and didn't stick to the pretzel but the mustard sauce was good. I had their fish dinner which was excellent! Good cole slaw too.
- Rena O.
Awesome service. The food was plenty and very delicious. The server was on top of everything. To go boxes for sure. There was so much food. Our new place to go. We even took the kids and they were very kid friendly.
- Elizabeth G.
Food coma will be happening after you eat here. Great food, wide range of draft beer, staff is attentive and friendly. Definitely a local hot spot.
- Kevin M.
This place is great! Had the happy hour apps. Wings, brussel sprouts, candied bacon...alongside with the Hot Mess burger. Everything was fantastic. Beer selection is great - and Dan our bartender (sat at the outside bar) was busy, cheerful, and attentive - thanks! We will be back.
- Maria M.
Wednesday Blue Plate Special: very good roast pork loin, tasty crispy potato pancakes, and the best sauerkraut I've ever eaten by far. They should package it for Whole Foods, Progressive Field, etc...yes it's that great!
- Fred B.
Good atmosphere here. It's really clean too. They had "bar food And comfort food" as well...so there were many things to pick from on the menu to satisfy almost any cravings. The beer selection was impressive. I really enjoyed my food. Will be visiting more often...
- T N.
Went there with a group on Saturday night. The food was awesome! Definitely would return. The owner came to the table and was easy to talk to. Our server was very pleasant. The atmosphere is casual, but the menu has something for everyone! I wish them good luck with their new restaurant!
- Linda S.
My wife and I stopped in to try this place. I can tell you it will be in our regular rotation from now on. I got the hot mess burger it was excellent! Do yourself a favor and try the French onion soup it's great. My recommendation is don't share you will want it all for yourself. My wife got the charred Caesar and she really liked it. Overall nice place, great service and killer food.
- Keith F.
I will go there as much as my purse can take. The price is a bit high but the food is very good. Fast service and a really nice place.
My husband and I went here for the first time today for Sunday lunch. Very nice atmosphere, good food, friendly waitress, we will definitely be back. Have outside bar and patio for warm weather too.
We were in the Cleveland area for a show at State Theater on a Sunday. After doing some searching for a pre-show meal, we found Tavern of Independence and knew that it had just opened in the past few weeks. Sticking to our no-chain-restaurants-mantra when we travel, we decided to give it a try. We will be back!!! The food is beyond delicious...we made appetizers out of some of the sides, such as the Parmesan Pea risotto, outstanding! The bacon appetizer is out-of-this world delicious. It was a chilly evening so I immediately went for comfort food - the Chicken Pot Pie - it was decadent! Rich, creamy, and the topping was flaky and buttery, almost as if phyllo sheets married ciabatta. An overwhelming selection of beers, but our server Jamie did a wonderful job in deciphering what I might like the best...and she was right! A jazz trio was just beginning to play that night...I can't wait to go back when I can spend more time there. Caution - the portions are huge! You'll be taking food home and it will be just as delicious.
If you like 'em, don't miss the fried brussel sprouts appetizer. And if you order the loaded tater tots, make sure you have about 4 people to share them with! The Blue Shroom Burger and pork chop dinner were delicious, and our server was wonderful and friendly. Interesting, not the usual run of the mill menu. We'll be back to try something else.
The chef and his staff demonstrated an expertise in creating a culinary adventure. Menu items all have a unique flair which sets this restaurant apart from the rest. Nice, comfortable environment and courteous staff makes this a destination you can't wait to return to.
